Understanding Team’s Flaws and Strengths Nursing Discussion
***Comment this***
As a nurse leader the single most important trait in my opinion is the ability to delegate to others. No single person is capable of doing everything themselves. The ability to understand every member of your team both professionally and on a personal level is hard to do. You must understand your team’s flaws and strengths in order to build an effective team. By knowing them you understand their troubles, and what makes them tick. When you them you are able to play to their strengths and delegate tasks that you know they can accomplish. When you delegate to those strengths you also make the team more efficient. It involves effective communication, empowering staff to make decisions based on their judgment and support from all levels of the health care setting. Delegation can free the nurse for attending more complex patient care needs, develop the skills of nursing assistive personnel and promote cost containment for the healthcare organization (Harris, 2017).
