Topic Research question: In 1793, the Qing dynasty emperor Qianlong regarded the dispatch of envoy as a request of tributing, which was mentioned in a document. And he showed no interest in British manufacturers. He also rejected Britain’s proposal of trading fairly and shaped equal diplomatic relations. While the European countries were developing effectively, the Qing rulers refused to change. They were still proud of their tributing relationship with dependencies, so what are the consequences? And during that period, how China traded with other countries?

Thesis (already determined, but you may reword as necessary)
Thesis: During the Qianlong period, Qing thought that they are the center of the world and did not have the idea of how to develop normal diplomatic relationships with other countries. In addition, they ignored the changes and developments in the world economy. Finally, China lost the opportunity to develop and communicate with the world, then decayed.
