Media and Cultural Communication Discussion Paper

For this paper, consider the documentary films you watched. While you are discussing what you learned, and what came up for you while watching ‘both’ films, I’d like you to also speak to how you relate to the films in relationship to your gender. 3-4 pages double spaced is good. (Approximately 8-10 points per page). You should include some of the things that made an impression on you – especially the things you were surprised by and include those notations in your paper. In particular speak to the role of media and how the culture of ‘feminism’ and ‘masculinity’ are driven by and impacted by the media. Include 2 references.

Communication Review Discussion

Reviews should tell us what you liked most about the student’s speech. You can comment on both content and delivery.

Reviews should include 1 or 2 things you think could have made the speech even more successful. This does not mean you are complaining about the job the student did. It could be anything from including more sources, using more/less gesturing, or even an idea about a visual aid. Remember, this is a chance for each of you to grow your public speaking skills. No one will feel bad if you provide ideas for improving future speeches or presentations in the future.
