Discussion Question:
Explore the Salesforce.org website to learn about how this company provides technology for non-profits, specifically in the areas of Fundraising, Program Management and Grants Management. Watch the video demos on the site.
Which solution would be the most relevant and beneficial to your organization? Or if you don’t currently work for a non-profit, which one do you think would the most beneficial to a non-profit organization? Make sure that you describe how the technology works in detail and make comparisons between what your organization current uses and what Salesforce has to offer.

Heather’s Post:
Non-profit cloud would be an excellent resource to implement at my current job. Northern Rivers is a non-profit organization that relies heavily on fundraising, grants, and donations. “Nonprofit Cloud is your one integrated platform helping you connect all parts of your organization supporting the imperative to shift to digital” (Salesforce, 2020). The non-profit cloud would allow the business to organize and keep track of everything. The non-profit cloud also is beneficial for non-profit organizations because it has a special section that allows the organization to send specialized notes to their donors. I also think this a great tool for non-profits because the donors are able to allocate where they would like their money to go to. The non-profit cloud has many other advantages such as being able to look up contact information of the donor. This comes in handy when writing specialized thank you notes to the donors, which will help them feel appreciated. “The app exchange is like the app store for your salesforce platform, it has thousands of apps for events, ticketing, and wealth screening to gain a unified view of your supporters” (Salesforce, 2020). Northern Rivers has a website that explains their mission statement and provides information about the services they offer along with the information to become a foster parent. Northern Rivers has a donate tab on their website to allow contributors to make a donations. Northern Rivers will also host evens that can lead to individuals making donations. I think Northern Rivers would greatly benefit from the non-profit cloud because it would allow the agency to connect with donors on a more personal level.

Alexa’s Post:
For my organization, we have 4 different site locations. Sometimes keeping everything consistent yet unique to the location can be very hard. I believe that with the Nonprofit Cloud for Program Management, we would be able to manage our programs more effectively over all 4 locations and we could see it on the same platform. Right now, we have paper versions of attendance for programs and in order to see it all, we would have to go get the binder from the specific location we are looking for. I would be able to see each participant as well as notes, grades, attendance, and even create a personalized plan for a specific student. This way, the grant reporting would be extremely seamless and helpful with salesforce.com in a combination with work.com which we would have our organization under. Salesforce.com actually has an abundance of its own apps to choose from to help uphold what would be best for specific programs or organization in general.
