Patriotism is not something that everybody possesses and even fewer possess the will to act on and defend it. However, when it comes to Deborah not only did, she act on it and defend it but she went out of her way to do so even when she had a built-in excuse of being born a woman. Deborah was not content with sitting on the sidelines while the fight for the country’s future waged in the background instead she decided to take action and put herself in harm’s way for what she believed in. In doing so she broke the law but it’s rare for a woman to make history without doing so and that’s just what Deborah did was make history. Deborah is the ultimate trail blazer and the true embodiment of the American way and the American spirit, to look injustice in the face and push past it not for self but for others. To take on a seemingly impossible task and stop at nothing tile that task has been concurred and then lead people to a better life through your sacrifice.
